Writing Desk in the Style of Prague Cubism

This desk from our collection is a tribute to the design language of early 20th-century Czechoslovak Cubism. It is a high-quality custom piece made of oak, crafted as a one-off in 2023. We had been following this remarkable object for some time and were finally able to acquire it for our collection.

The drawers, shaped like cut crystals, are characteristic of applied Cubist design. The bold, geometric lines refer to the principles of a movement that originated in Prague in the early years of the last century.

Inside, the drawers are subdivided to offer structured storage for writing utensils and documents.

A truly distinctive contemporary piece that brings the radical visual language of Czech Cubism into the present day.
