Exceptional avant-garde floor lamp from 1930s Czechoslovakia – a lighting object shaped by the spirit of modernist experimentation.
This multifunctional piece exemplifies the design ambition of the Czechoslovak pre-war era. Its clear construction – a flat circular base, slender brass stem, and a ring-shaped shade with integrated reflector – appears both balanced and precise.
Made entirely of brass, the inner side of the shade is lacquered. Its distinctive, almost black surface developed over decades through natural oxidation, giving the lamp its unique presence.
The reflector, fitted with a recessed milk glass diffuser, casts a warm, diffuse light forward – soft, atmospheric, and glare-free. A technical and aesthetic solution of remarkable clarity.
A unique and authentic lighting object from the heart of Czechoslovak Modernism.
