This B43 cantilever chair, based on a design by Mart Stam, dates from the 1930s.The B43 is one of the defining designs of Classical Modernism. Its cantilever construction and combination of chrome-plated tubular steel and moulded wood embody the reduced, functional approach of Bauhaus Modernism.The dark walnut veneer on the steam-bent plywood seat and backrest creates a warm contrast to the chrome-plated frame.
