This elegant lamp was designed in the early 1950s by Czechoslovak designer Josef Hůrka and produced by the Napako company in Prague. It is a rare example of early Space Age lighting, combining sculptural geometry with functional design.

The conical body and delicate metal frame reflect the so-called “Sputnik Aesthetic” – a stylistic response to the fascination with rockets and outer space that began in Eastern Europe in the mid-century era. The lamp can be used both as a table lamp and a wall-mounted fixture, making it a versatile and highly collectible lighting object.

The original parchment shade, restored with care, emits a soft and warm glow in a natural yellow tone, enhancing the atmospheric quality of the piece.

A characterful object from the dawn of the atomic age – ideal for lovers of design history and Space Age aesthetics.
