Freischwinger-Sessel „Famos 21“ im Bauhaus-Stil

The „Famos 21“ cantilever armchair, crafted by the renowned Czechoslovak company Mücke-Melder, is a prime example of Bauhaus design from the 1930s. Its elegant, streamlined frame of chrome-plated tubular steel and ergonomically shaped upholstery combine functionality with timeless aesthetics. This model originates from an early pre-war production, characterized by outstanding chrome plating and superior craftsmanship. Expertly restored, the chair has been rebuilt with a traditional innerspring construction, faithfully maintaining the original shape and dimensions of the seat shell. The upholstery is covered in a rare, discontinued fabric in a Bauhaus-inspired orange-red texture, which accentuates the authentic character of the piece.

In the 1930s, the „Famos 21“ was designed as a response to the famous Thonet club chair series, including the K 411 model (now known as the S 411).
