Art Deco umbrella stand – tubular steel, 1930s

Original umbrella stand from the early 1930s, made of chromed tubular steel with painted wooden ball applications in period colours.
The design is clearly inspired by works of the English designer Eileen Gray and combines functional clarity with a subtle, playful accent typical of the pre-war era.
