This desk was crafted by the Czechoslovakian company Mücke-Melder in the 1930s. Known for producing high-quality Bauhaus furniture, Mücke-Melder collaborated closely with Thonet-Mundus AG, which granted licenses for designs by celebrated figures like Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam, Mies van der Rohe, and Bruno Weil.

The design of this desk embodies Bauhaus principles with its minimalist tubular steel frame, lending it a geometric lightness, while the warm wood veneer drawer blocks add a refined contrast. Classic Bauhaus cylindrical handles enhance the desk’s understated elegance, blending form with practical function.

This particular piece is a rare luxury version featuring rosewood veneer, making it one of the finest example currently available on the market.

Mücke-Melder desks are highly sought after by collectors and this model exemplifies the pinnacle of Bauhaus style and craftsmanship, showcased in its timeless aesthetics and original condition.
