The shallow depth and balanced proportions give the piece a particularly elegant appearance. The black lacquered shelves appear to be original and form a strong contrast to the polished tubular steel frame.
This tubular steel shelf is a variant of the B12 model associated with Marcel Breuer. The construction with nickel-plated tubular steel and black high-gloss wooden shelves reflects the restrained functional language of early Bauhaus furniture.
The shelf was professionally restored and most likely originates from a German production of the 1930s.
