Massive Copper Wall Light – Czechoslovak Modernism, 1930s

This generously sized wall light was manufactured in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. The half-shell body is made of solid copper – a material that oxidises over time, developing a distinctive and characterful patina.

Its inner reflector is finished in matte white lacquer and distributes soft, shadow-free light into the room. The design follows the principles of classical modernism: functional, clear, and material-driven – minimalistic in its form, striking in its presence.
