Designed by Josef Hurka for the Czechoslovak manufacturer Napako in the 1930s, this original ceiling light reflects the functional clarity of Czechoslovak Modernism.
Its distinctive circular form is defined by a wide spun copper shade surrounding an inner diffuser made of sandblasted glass. The restrained geometry and functional construction create a remarkably contemporary appearance.
The lamp remains in good original condition. The copper surface has developed a natural patina over the decades and shows minor signs of age and use consistent with its history.
An original design by Josef Hurka for Napako from the 1930s.
