The design of this imposing large UFO ceiling light from the 1930s stands representative of the futuristic concepts created by the Czechoslovak designer Josef Hurka, who predominantly developed lighting objects for the manufacturer Napako.
The form shows a clear connection to Bauhaus Modernism as well as to the functionalist and experimental design approaches of that period. Made of nickel-plated brass and equipped with a sanded glass shade, the light combines technical material with a clear and visionary formal language.
With a diameter of 65 cm and a length of 55 cm, it is an impressive example of progressive lighting design of the 1930s.
Especially noteworthy: We currently offer a pair of these ceiling lights. For spacious interiors or symmetrical arrangements, this opens up distinctive design possibilities.
