This round tubular steel table was made by Mücke-Melder in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s.
Its pared-back construction combines a round mahogany-veneered top with a chrome-plated tubular steel frame. Four curved tubes form both the legs and the cross base, meeting at a central circular connector – a distinctive structural detail that gives the table its clear, graphic form.
The mahogany-veneered top has been refinished and displays a warm, lively wood grain. The chrome-plated steel frame remains in its original condition, with visible signs of age and use.
An understated design from the 1930s, with a striking contrast between the tubular steel structure and the richly grained wood surface.
