This side table represents a classic tubular steel design of the 1930s, developed within the context of Bauhaus modernism.
A continuous frame of chrome-plated tubular steel forms the structural base and defines the horizontal composition of the piece. Two levels provide practical storage while establishing the balanced proportions typical of this type.
The rectangular table tops with softly rounded edges are executed in veneer and display a lively grain pattern. In combination with the cool steel frame, a contrast emerges between industrial construction and a warm surface.
Formally, the design relates to tubular steel tables developed in the 1930s, such as those associated with Thonet, while maintaining an independent interpretation within this design language.
Tables of this kind were commonly used alongside sofas and cantilever chairs and formed part of modern interiors of the period.
Furniture of this type reflects the functional approach of the time. The combination of steel and wood defines the character of this design.
