This ceiling light was designed around 1935 by Frantisek Anyz for the Czechoslovak manufacturer Napako. Its futuristic design evokes the shape of a stylized aircraft – the UFO motif was a contemporary symbol of technological progress and modernist vision.
The body, made of nickel-plated brass with a white-coated interior, provides a soft and balanced reflection of light. An optional two-circuit system offers versatile lighting control: one circuit for indirect downward light, another for direct illumination toward the ceiling. Both light sources can be operated separately or together – creating atmospheres ranging from gently subdued to brightly illuminated.
A rare lighting object of the avant-garde modernist era, uniting functionality, material culture, and visionary design.
