Thonet Bauhaus bedside table, circa 1930 – restored tubular steel furniture in original petrol color with Bauhaus cylindrical handles

This Bauhaus bedside table, produced by Thonet in the early 1930s, represents the functional clarity and balanced elegance characteristic of Bauhaus Modernism.
The chromed tubular steel frame encloses the lacquered wooden body with calm structural logic, reflecting the architectural order of its time.

The piece has been carefully restored in our workshop and brought back to its original color scheme. The distinctive petrol tone was a frequently used color in the late 1920s and early 1930s – elegant, cultivated, and coolly restrained.

The original Bauhaus cylindrical handles and the clearly divided composition of drawer and door emphasize the geometric precision of the design. Proportion and detailing illustrate the design discipline of the Thonet workshops of that era.
