Tecno Nomos table by Norman Foster

Original Nomos Table, designed in 1986 by Sir Norman Foster for the Italian manufacturer Tecno. Conceived as part of a modular table system, the Nomos was developed for both office and domestic environments and remains one of Foster’s most defining furniture designs.

The Nomos Table exemplifies a strictly constructive approach to design, where structure and function remain fully visible. Its filigree yet highly robust metal frame forms a clearly articulated load-bearing system, carrying the generous glass top in an almost floating manner. The construction follows architectural logic: forces are legible, joints are emphasized, and every element serves a functional purpose.

Within our program, the Nomos Table represents one of the more recent designs. Nevertheless, its constructive clarity and functional discipline place it firmly in line with the principles and ideals of classical modernism that also characterize our historical objects.
