This tubular steel cantilever chair was designed in the early 1930s as a collaboration between Thonet-Frankenberg and Walter Knoll. Sold under the model name K411, it was one of the first Bauhaus-inspired club chairs available in Germany.
As part of the first production series, this chair features unique wooden side panels, which were later omitted in subsequent versions. These wooden elements not only add warmth and contrast to the sleek tubular steel frame but also highlight the innovative approach of combining industrial materials with traditional craftsmanship. Today, these early models are particularly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts.
Recently restored with great attention to detail, the chair has been reupholstered using traditional spring core techniques. We selected a period-typical fabric with a Bauhaus-inspired pattern to reflect its historical character.
Thanks to its cantilever construction and ergonomically shaped cushions, the chair combines exceptional comfort with timeless and elegant design. A true classic from the early Bauhaus era.
