Bauhaus cantilever armchair “Famos 21” by Mücke-Melder – 1930s – leather, beige

The Famos 21 tubular steel armchair was designed by Mücke-Melder in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s and appeared under this model name in the company’s period sales catalogues.

Its sweeping tubular steel frame, fully upholstered body and lacquered beechwood armrests combine the clear lines of Bauhaus Modernism with exceptional comfort.

This example has been carefully restored and newly upholstered in beige leather with contrasting black piping. Its traditional sprung upholstery follows the chair’s original construction.
